Ruwebit KML site for Linksys/Kiss Players

I'm busy creating a KML site for Linksys/Kiss players, like DP-558, DP-600 and VR-558. It's not as fancy as the default portal or as the TinyStocks portal but maybe it will have some added value in the future.
Sorry this webtool has been removed, some links in this article do not exist anymore

For screenshots see here

The url to the site is:
http://kml.ruwebit.net/index.kml

You have to add the url to your KML favorites on the Kiss EPG website.

Log in on the site
Click on View (KML favorites) at the bottom of the page
Now you can add a new favorite
Specify the name: Ruwebit Portal
URL: http://kml.ruwebit.net/index.kml
Click Add Favorite

KML stands for Kiss Markup Language. Using this 'language' you can create websites for the Linksys/Kiss players. I don't know why they didn't stick to HTML and put a decent in the player. It's a crime to create KML sites, one typo and you will get the dreaded 'parse error' screen. For me, KML was already obsolete when it was created.

Create your own KML site
To start creating your own KML sites, checkout these links:
KML - The Missing Manual (Soren Roug)
Kiss Developer Portal

When creating your own KML pages, these links to KML pages can come in handy:
Kiss Portal
Kiss TV Guide (EPG)
Kiss News
Kiss Games
Kiss Weather
Kiss Favorites
Kiss Webradio 3
TinyStocks Portal
TinyStocks TV Guide (EPG)
TinyStocks Games
TinyStocks Weather
TinyStocks Maps
TinyStocks IMDB

You can view the source of these files in your favorite webbrowser (like IE6), by appending to the URL:
?PlayerID=ugeodosahwis&PlayerBrand=KiSS&PlayerModel=VR-558&PlayerLanguage=4&PlayerFirmware=117&ScreenWidth=720&ScreenHeight=576&ScreenForm=4x3&agree=1

For example:
http://epg.kml.kiss-technology.com/kiss.php?PlayerID=ugeodosahwis&PlayerBrand=KiSS&PlayerModel=VR-558&PlayerLanguage=4&PlayerFirmware=117&ScreenWidth=720&ScreenHeight=576&ScreenForm=4x3&agree=1

Another recommended KML site is Movimu. You can add webradio presets, KML favorites, play games, and it's a portal to other KML sites.

Hi There

I just bought the Kiss 1600 and play arround with the webradio functionality. I miss certain (dutch local) channels. I could not find a way to add new channels, however it might be possible on your own kiss KML site.

Does anyone have experience and know how to do so?

thanks
