Iedereen lijkt wel bij hardware RAID te zweren, maar na anderhalf jaar Linux software RAID zie ik daar alleen maar de voordelen van.
Bijvoorbeeld het migreren van RAID1 naar RAID5 was een eitje. Er zijn veel goede tools (per definitie open source) beschikbaar, dus in geval van nood heb je veel meer tools tot je beschikking. En hardware RAID is echt niet sneller dan software RAID.

Hier een goed overzicht waarom je voor Linux software RAID zou kiezen.
